Description of “Christmas Miracle”

Charity events “Christmas Miracle” in Ogre and Ledmane

The Latvian Evangelical Alliance (LEA), in cooperation with the Christian churches of Ogre, Ogre Art School, and other organizations, organized for the third year the Ogre city and municipality children's drawing exhibition-competition “Christmas Miracle”.

This event has gained wide popularity. This year around 160 children took part with their drawings. Young artists aged 4 to 16 could depict their emotions and dreams about Christmas, submitting works in various techniques and styles.

This project was carried out in two directions:

  • a drawing exhibition and charity concert in cooperation with Ledmane Culture House director Inese Nerete and the Evangelical Christian Church “Blue Cross” together with pastor Karlis Dreimanis (23 December, in Ledmane)
  • the drawing exhibition-competition “Christmas Miracle”, which took place from 27 November to 26 December on the 1st floor of the shopping centre “Ogres Prestizs” near the “TOP” store, with a closing concert and awards on 26 December at 15:00 in the concert hall of the shopping centre “Ogres Prestizs” - 3rd floor.

On this day children with their parents filled the beautifully decorated hall. Christmas songs were heard, along with the story of the birth of Jesus Christ and God's love for people. The audience enjoyed dance performances. The clown performance and gifts for all the children brought special joy to everyone. The song “Silent Night” sounded beautifully and warmly in a joint performance.

The drawings of the young artists were evaluated by a jury led by Peteris Aulmanis, director of Ogre Art School, and representatives of the Latvian Evangelical Alliance.
Valuable prizes were received by the winners of the drawing competition; audience-choice prizes were provided by the general sponsor “Ogres Prestizs” and Modris Skujins photo salon, and special gifts for the youngest drawers came from “Annels”.
