Opportunities to Study at the Latvian Biblical Centre
Dear co-workers in the Kingdom of God!
It is no secret to any of us that September is approaching rapidly, and that also means a new academic year at the Latvian Biblical Centre. We offer various opportunities for Christian education. Over these 30+ years we have grown broader. Some programmes may be useful for you yourselves, and some perhaps for members of your church or friends.
Therefore we warmly invite you to become acquainted with what we offer and to take an active part in passing this information on, both orally and in writing, by addressing people in your church or outside it.
Programme “Christianity, Work and Society”
This specially developed programme will give you the tools and knowledge you need to find harmony between faith, work and family. It will expand and enrich your potential in faith, work relationships and ministry! The programme courses will help integrate faith into every area of life, professional growth and development. We invite everyone to participate in this programme and also to form a deep connection with Holy Scripture and lifelong friendships. This will be an interesting journey!
The in-person study format makes it possible to combine studies with work and family. Courses and small-group discussions take place about once a month on Saturdays.
Programme “Theology and Ministry”
Does your heart burn for ministry, Bible studies and learning Holy Scripture? Expand and enrich your potential in faith and ministry.
The Theology and Ministry study programme is not only about theology; it is about personal spiritual growth and self-knowledge. We invite everyone to form a deep connection with Holy Scripture and faith.
The goal of this in-person and distance-learning programme is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the books of the Bible, Biblical doctrines and Church history, as well as to develop the practical skills needed for effective ministry in the church and society.
In-person lectures take place once a month, usually all day Saturday and on the following Monday and Tuesday evenings.
Programme “School of Preachers”
The School of Preachers will increase the effectiveness of preaching God’s Word, which in turn will help address the congregation and its visitors.
The goal of this in-person programme is to develop an excellent culture of preaching by learning new skills, carefully reflecting on preaching theory and practice, and stimulating interaction with other preachers. The programme is intended for anyone with potential to preach, for pastors and church leaders.
The in-person study format makes it possible to combine studies with work and family. Lectures take place approximately once every three months on Friday evening and all day Saturday. Once a month there are discussion-group meetings where students learn practically how to apply what they have heard in the lectures.
Programme “Introduction to Church Counselling”
This online programme will allow you to gain the counselling skills you need. It is designed for all church members and visitors who want to help people around them in various life situations. You will receive the tools that are especially needed in today’s society. The counselling course will help expand and enrich your spiritual and ministry potential!
The goal of the programme is to give participants the necessary skills and knowledge by using Biblical principles and the best counselling practice. This programme is led by experienced professional counsellors.
The programme schedule is designed to be easy to follow and inclusive for everyone. Online lectures take place every other Saturday morning.
