“True Freedom”
The “Partneri” foundation, in cooperation with the programme “True Freedom”, the Baltic Pastoral Institute and Riga Mateja Baptist Church, invites church leaders and representatives to several events in MAY.
“True Freedom” (Celebrate Recovery®) is a biblical and balanced programme that can help overcome all kinds of hurts, habits and addictions.
The aim of the “True Freedom” programme is to promote fellowship and experience God’s healing power on the road to recovery. By sharing our experience, strength and hope with others, we ourselves change. In addition, we develop the desire to accept God’s grace and forgiveness while dealing with the problems of our lives. By learning these principles, we grow spiritually and are freed from hurts, addictions and habits. This freedom creates peace, harmony, joy and, most importantly, strengthens relationships with others and with our loving and forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.
On 24-26 May in Uzava, at the “Ganibas” camp site, the “True Freedom” programme camp will take place. We invite everyone interested who wants to learn more about how God uses programmes and people to bring healing and true freedom.
At the camp you will gain a practical understanding of what happens in the “True Freedom” programme: there will be an opportunity to hear testimonies from programme participants about how healing was received, learn more about the programme’s 12 steps and the guidelines to be observed, watch a video lecture, and take part in a small group on a specific topic. A special blessing is the ministry of musicians at every “True Freedom” meeting! At the camp too, we will all worship God together.
On 27, 28 and 29 May at the Baltic Pastoral Institute, from 10:00 to 17:00, open lectures “OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP PEOPLE IN ADDICTIONS” will take place.
Main topics:
* The process of overcoming addictions for addicted people and their family members
* Basic principles in working with addicted people and their families
* How to support ministry with purposeful prayers
Both at the camp and in the lectures we will be able to gain knowledge from our special guests from America:
Dr David Sutton (David Sutton) - doctor of psychology, pastor, counsellor for people in addictions, who has created several ministries in America that help people in addictions, former prisoners and their families.
Bill Specht (Bill Specht) - counsellor for people in addictions and their family members, one of the leaders of the “True Freedom” ministry in America and initiators in Latvia.
