Mission Days 2018 - BEYOND BORDERS

19-21 April, Riga Mateja Church, Matisa iela 50b, Riga.

Mission Days have for more than 10 years gathered passionate Christians to inform about needs in the world, to help people get involved in mission work and to encourage them to begin mission in their own church and neighbourhood.

This year the conference “Beyond Borders” invites you to join and learn about mission work carried out by Latvians in the homeland and elsewhere. We want to challenge you to break existing stereotypes and learn how diverse mission is, and that anyone can take part in it.

Programme:

Thursday (19 April) 19:00 concert with Patrik Brandes (NL/UK) and band (free entrance)

Friday, Saturday - lectures with Peter Iljins, elective lectures, practical application, organisation exhibition, worship evening.

History of mission in Latvia

This year Peter Iljins (USA) will visit the conference. For many years he was the leader of the Christian organisation Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in North America. Latvia has a special place in Peter’s heart. Since 1989 he has travelled to Latvia at least once a year and provided support through training, encouragement and other kinds of help. He has inspired many leaders and young people and helped start YWAM in Latvia, Ukraine and Russia.

Speaking about his father’s remarkable life, which is also recorded in his book “From the Uttermost Parts”, Peter speaks about principles of character, God’s nature and ways, leadership, forgiveness and God’s work through His people among the nations of the world.
