BYF Prayer and Fasting Day, 30.03.

The Baltic Youth Festival invites you to a Prayer and Fasting Day on 30 March

The Baltic Youth Festival invites church people to a Prayer and Fasting Day on 30 March, gathering for common intercession for young people at the Salvation Army premises in Riga, Bruninieku Street 10a, from 15:00 to 21:00.

With each day we are drawing closer to the Baltic Youth Festival - seminars and planning are taking place, invitations are being printed, and buses are being reserved. But we know that only God can give blessing and success to all our efforts in organizing the festival - therefore we are invited to turn to Him with prayer and fasting, asking for blessing and guidance both in organizing the festival and in its course. The Festival Prayer Committee invites bishops, pastors, servants, and church members to a united Prayer and Fasting Day on 30 March.

At the common Prayer and Fasting Day event in the Salvation Army premises, those present will be addressed by festival director Viktor Hamm (Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), Bishop Pavils Bruvers (LELB Liepaja Diocese), and pastor Aleksandrs Cebotarjovs (“Good News” church). Common prayers will be led by pastors and members of the festival organizing committees. The programme also includes worship together with musicians from various denominations - the worship group of Agenskalns Baptist Church,
the worship group of Kekava Pentecostal Church, and the worship group of the Catholic lay association/community “Effata” will participate.

The motto chosen for the Prayer and Fasting Day is a passage from the book of Ezra in the Bible: “There by the Ahava Canal I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask Him for a safe journey for us, our children, and all our possessions. So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He answered our prayer” /Ezra 8:21,23/.

On 9 June, the Baltic Youth Festival will take place at Arena Riga - the largest music festival of faith testimony in the Baltics. The festival is organized by the churches of the Baltic states in cooperation with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), and the festival's aim is to reach thousands of young people in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia with the Gospel message in a musical language young people understand.
