“True Love Waits” gathering in Ogre, 29.04-01.05.2011

The association “True Love Waits” invites you to a gathering in Ogre
From April 29 to May 1, the ninth youth gathering “True Love Waits” will take place in Ogre. This year's motto is “Are you flirting or filtering?”, and it will include lectures and discussions about relationships between boys and girls.
Every year an average of 120 young people take part in the gathering to listen to lectures and discuss problem questions in relationships between boys and girls. “Are you flirting or filtering? This is a question about the influence of information on young people - both those who do not believe in God and those who believe and have grown up in Christian families,” explains Dainis Pandars, leader of the association “True Love Waits”. “Influence comes from classmates, TV, parents and adults. Precisely because there is so much contradictory information all around, young people today must be given the opportunity to evaluate for themselves what foundation they are building their lives on. And whether these are principles that will not disappoint them and will lead them to the main goal of relationships - a happy married life,” says D. Pandars.
Over three days, young people will have the opportunity to reflect on the influence of information on our lives; whether the principles guiding our lives are what we actually want; and to discuss the main insights in small groups with like-minded people. In addition to the educational part, young people will be able to enjoy outdoor activities, complete creative tasks and hear worship music. To make the lecture program relevant, everyone will be offered elective sessions or workshops on the topics “Why wait?”, “Sexuality and health”, and “The battle for our brains”.
Every young person aged 14-25+ is invited to participate in the gathering. Participation is possible only by registering in advance: www.istamilestibagaida.lv. The gathering will take place from April 29 to May 1 in Ogre, Meza Prospekts 14. Beginning: April 29 at 17:00 (registration), 18:00 (opening).
