The Brethren congregations brought an awakening to Latvia that ranks among the great revivals in the history of the Christian church. It was one of the main factors in the emergence of the Latvian people and later also the state.
The same Herrnhut Brethren congregations that sent missionaries to Vidzeme were, from the 17th to the 19th century, one of the strongest missionary centres in the Christian world, carrying the Gospel literally over the whole face of the earth and significantly influencing the course of the Reformation in Europe and America.

What are these spiritual sources and beginnings of the Brethren congregations?
What meaning does this have today for us and for the great awakening of the last times?

“Remember the days of old; consider the years from generation to generation! Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you” (Deuteronomy 32:7).
