“SEXUAL REVOLUTION” youth festival, 4-6.03.2011

The international youth festival “Sexual Revolution. The Naked Truth About Relationships” has concluded.

Nearly seven thousand young people from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Sweden, Norway and other European countries took part in the three-day international youth festival “Sexual Revolution. The Naked Truth About Relationships”, held March 4-6 in Riga at the Christian center “Laba Vests”, the festival organizers report.

The festival's special guests were leaders and team members from the Moral Revolution movement in the USA. In total, 28 representatives of the movement came to Latvia to work with young people throughout the festival days. Movement founder Kris Vallotton, youth pastor Nathan Edwardson and movement director Sheila Gibbs taught young people how to build healthy and right relationships, how to deal with rejection, and how to understand their body and sexuality. Young people had the opportunity to take part in special seminars that taught how to view the opposite sex with respect, how to see the beauty and significance of marriage and the God-given uniqueness and value within themselves, and how to live in today's world based on values rather than emotions. Youth leaders and parents were also specifically addressed in seminars on responsibility, spiritual authority and the importance of the family institution in the development of a young person's personality.

Almost four thousand young people at the festival used the opportunity to receive special intercession and answers to their problem situations from representatives of the Moral Revolution team.

In the festival evenings, worship concerts were led by the world-famous contemporary Christian music group Jesus Culture, beloved by young people. This was their first visit to Eastern Europe.

The festival was broadcast by live video on the website of Estonia's Christian radio at www.pereraadio.com.

The festival organizers express great gratitude to every supporter and cooperation partner in co-organizing this event that was so significant for young people. Around 200 volunteers from various Latvian non-governmental organizations and churches took part in organizing the festival.

During the festival's advertising campaign, publications and advertising materials were placed in nearly 70 different media outlets and portals. Thank you to every portal creator and journalist who helped spread information about the festival both in Latvia and abroad.
