Latvian Bible Centre

Come study at the Latvian Bible Centre!

“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge...” /Proverbs 18:15/

The Latvian Bible Centre (formerly the Riga International Bible Institute) invites applications for studies in the new academic year, which begins on August 27.

The Latvian Bible Centre offers:
- theological and practical training;
- qualified lecturers from Great Britain, the USA, Latvia and Ireland;
- lectures in Latvian and Russian;
- evening studies from 18:00 to 21:00, every second week of the month.

Studies take place in Riga, in Agenskalns, at Marupes Street 16, as well as at our branch in Talsi. A branch is also planned to open in Ventspils.

LBC is one of the largest interdenominational non-formal educational institutions in Latvia. In cooperation with various churches, it prepares church workers to become leaders and servants, develops a vision for mission, promotes evangelism and Christian ministry, and develops ministry skills based on the practical application of God's Word.

We highly value theoretical studies and their importance in shaping our thinking, but we also see the need to apply what has been learned in practice. The lecturers are very experienced, and the curriculum is designed to develop the skills needed in ministry. Participation in seminars allows what is learned in the classroom to be applied in life and ministry. This is promoted by an emphasis on practical application both in homework and in the requirement that students also carry out ministry alongside their studies.

Here is what leaders of various denominations and churches say about the Latvian Bible Centre:

“I gladly recommend studying at the Latvian Bible Centre to anyone who wants to deepen their faith and broaden their spiritual horizon. I recommend LBC because of its biblical approach and practical orientation.”
Modris Ozolinkevics
President of the Latvian Evangelical Alliance

“The Latvian Bible Centre continues to expand its offer and provides in-depth, broad and accredited learning opportunities. I believe that this school can help each of its students grow in each of these areas. Take responsibility, learn and act. And may all glory be to God!”
Peteris Sprogis
Bishop of the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia

“There is no greater value given to us here on earth than the Word of God. Therefore I sincerely thank the Latvian Bible Centre, which over many years has led many, many people from different denominations to this inexhaustible source of Life, people whose hearts have been set aflame for service in love toward God and toward their neighbor.”
Pavils Bruvers
Bishop of Liepaja, Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia

“I would like to recommend the Latvian Bible Centre as an excellent interdenominational educational institution whose lecturers are fully devoted to their goal - introducing students to Holy Scripture as God's story and message for every person, regardless of denominational affiliation. It is pleasant that LBC provides not only a base of intellectual knowledge, but also helps with the practical application of knowledge.”
Dr. Min Viesturs Rekis
Bishop of the Seventh-day Adventist Latvian Conference

“We highly value the study programs of the Latvian Bible Centre, because Latvia greatly needs such interdenominational training that provides sound biblical foundational knowledge as well as practical ministry knowledge. We support the Latvian Bible Centre and recommend it to everyone who wants to receive quality and practical education.”
Gita Medne
Superintendent of the Latvian United Methodist Church
