Evangelist Franklin Graham will participate in the Baltic Youth Festival

On 9 June the prominent evangelist Franklin Graham will visit Latvia to participate in the Baltic Youth Festival. The festival will take place on 9 June at Arena Riga and will be the largest music festival of faith testimony in the Baltics so far. Over 30 years Franklin Graham has addressed approximately 7 million people around the world, and this will be his second visit to Latvia.
Evangelist and missionary Franklin Graham was born in North Carolina, USA, in the family of legendary evangelist Billy Graham. Franklin Graham is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and of the international aid organization “Samaritan's Purse”, large-scale non-profit organizations with offices in 100 countries of the world. These organizations have provided assistance to victims of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attack in the USA, the Sudanese civil war, and many natural disasters - from tsunami damage in South Africa to powerful earthquakes in Haiti, China, and Japan.
Since Franklin Graham became involved in BGEA's work in 1989, he has participated as an evangelist each year in many BGEA festivals around the world. Among them is the Festival of Hope, which recently took place in many parts of Europe, including the Baltic states. Franklin Graham pays special attention to ministry to young people - youth music festivals have gained significant response in North America, addressing young people in a musical language they understand.
Thanks to Franklin's experience and broad knowledge in international aid issues, he is regularly invited to speak both at conferences with representatives of the U.S. government and on major U.S. television channels, including CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC.
Franklin has preached the Gospel to more than 7 million people in the world. He has personally met with five U.S. presidents, as well as with the world's most influential leaders from Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Franklin is the author of eight books. He lives in Boone, North Carolina (USA) with his wife Jane. Their family has four children and eight grandchildren. On 9 June of this year, the Baltic Youth Festival will take place at Arena Riga - the largest music festival of faith testimony in the Baltics. Exciting music over several hours will be provided by Newsboys, The Parachute Band, Michael W. Smith, and many artists from Latvia and our neighbouring countries, gathering thousands of young people from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia in Riga.
