The association “Hope for Children” works with at-risk families, street children and orphans in day centers in Riga, Skrunda and Liepaja.
Through an open competition, we invite applications for a paid half-time mission position as a family support worker
Duties
work mainly in central Riga, but also including visits to other Riga districts to visit families;
social and pastoral work with poor families;
distribution of humanitarian aid;
organizing seminars and events for families;
cooperation with state and municipal institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations.
Requirements
secondary education (preference for candidates with knowledge of psychology, pastoral work and/or social work);
previous experience working with families or in charity work;
good knowledge of Latvian and Russian;
organizational ability;
a good understanding of biblical passages concerning people in poverty and the socially vulnerable.
The organization's work is based on Christian principles, so candidates are expected to have an active Christian lifestyle and the ability to use biblical knowledge practically.
