Lutheran Catechism on abortion and life now available

After long work translating and adapting the Latvian edition, the “Lutheran Catechism on Abortion and Life” is finally available. The publication is an introduction to questions concerning the sanctity of life and abortion, reports the mission “Lutherans For Life”.
At present the catechism can be read on the “Lutherans For Life” website, and its publication in printed form is planned soon.
The “Lutheran Catechism on Abortion and Life” is a simple introduction to questions concerning the sanctity of life and abortion. It is arranged in question-and-answer form and discusses such topics as “what is abortion?”, “when does human life begin?”, “what does the Bible say?” and “what does science say?”. The foreword to the Latvian edition was written by Pāvils Brūvers, Bishop of the Liepaja Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia. He writes: “Jesus says: ‘Let the little children come to me, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ Every child - whether still in the mother's womb or already born - is created in the image and likeness of God, and for each such child Christ gave His life, so that the child might live, be a blessing to their family and their people, and bring honor to our Father in heaven.”

At present the book is available only in electronic form, but work on publication is underway and it is planned that very soon everyone will be able to read it. If you would like to distribute this small book in your church or support its publication, please contact “Lutherans For Life”.
