Invitation to a discussion

Hello,

We invite you to participate in the discussion "A child's needs and rights to appropriate alternative care in a family environment".

The discussion is organized by the Alternative Child Care Alliance, which unites 8 non-governmental organizations with experience in providing out-of-family care services for children in a family environment, in cooperation with the Ombudsman's Office. The discussion will take place on December 21, 2011 from 11:00 to 13:00 at the Ombudsman's Office, Baznīcas iela 25, Riga.

Within the discussion it is planned to highlight the impact of institutional care on a child's development, the child's needs in care and the need to improve the out-of-family care system in order to promote the placement of children, especially those under 3 years of age, in family care as quickly as possible.
