Conference “Reformation Colours”

“Reformation 500”
Conference “REFORMATION COLOURS”
27 October 2017, Riga
Within the events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Latvian Evangelical Alliance is organising an international conference “Reformation Colours”.
The Reformation movement filled the life, culture and art of all European inhabitants, changing society’s thinking and transforming its structure on the basis of God’s laws, which also promoted the flourishing of science, technology and common welfare.
The conference topics are dedicated to reviewing the ideological and historical formation and development process of the Reformation movement. The conference will analyse the lives of Reformation workers and their interaction, review the basic ideas and goals of the Reformation, and set out the problems of further development.
The thematic presentation and lecture arrangement of the “Reformation Colours” conference is organised with inspiration from the Luther memorial in Worms, Germany, where Luther is depicted among his predecessors and companions.
Who were these people, what were their ideals and goals, what was their Divine calling, to which they dedicated their lives? What were and what are the ideals of Reformation renewal? You will be able to learn this at the “Reformation Colours” conference, which will take place in the Riga City Council meeting hall, Ratslaukums 1, on 27 October at 10:00.
Participants: Dr.hist. Gundars Ceipe, Dr.hist. Janis Silins, Dr.theol. Ugis Sildegs, Mag.theol. Gita Mednis, Gints Lusis-Grinbergs.
Main topics: Peter Waldo, John Wycliffe, Jan Hus, Martin Luther, Nikolaus Zinzendorf.
