Charity event “Christmas Miracle” in Ogre,

The drawing contest “Christmas Miracle 2012”, organized by the Latvian Evangelical Alliance in cooperation with Ogre Christian churches, the public organization “Family Blessing”, the rehabilitation center “Blue Cross” and Ogre Art School, concluded with a concert, prizes, gifts and fireworks.
The charity events included children's drawing exhibitions and contests, concerts, awards and gift-giving for children in Ledmane and in Ogre at the “Ogres Prestizs” shopping center.
Two hundred young artists from Ogre and Ogre municipality, aged 3 to 16, depicted their associations, dreams and fantasies about Christmas in various techniques and forms.
On December 22, a charity event took place at the Ledmane Evangelical Church “Blue Cross”. More than fifty children's drawings brought joy to parents, children and guests from Ogre; after the local exhibition they traveled on to Ogre. The concert featured the “Blue Cross” ensemble (musical director A. Zerdockins), children and young people from Ogre churches with theater and beautiful songs.
Pastor Karlis Dreimanis wished everyone to do good deeds, not to reject one another, but to help one another in this difficult time. Inese Nereta, head of the Ledmane culture house, who helped organize the exhibition in Ledmane, thanked the children for their beautiful drawings, and all participants, organizers and supporters for a lovely event.


The best children's works were awarded diplomas and prizes; gifts and ice cream delighted all the children. After taking photographs and the fireworks, the hospitable “Blue Cross” house invited guests to dinner. We still remember the wonderful atmosphere full of joy and peace that filled the hall packed with spectators. Grateful hearts and joyful faces gave us, the event organizers, the greatest satisfaction. We drove home happy!
On December 26 at 15:00, the concert hall of the “Ogres Prestizs” shopping center was overflowing with children, parents, teachers, guests and concert participants.
In the broad concert program, the vocal ensemble “Svilpastas” (leader Ilze Miezere), dance studio “Triumfs” (leader Jekaterina Pihtina), the united group of Christian musicians, singer Olga Barismane and the clown group “Mirabilibus” performed on stage.
The head of the jury, Ogre Art School director Peteris Aulmanis, expressed joy that this year the contest had many good works of art - it was difficult to choose the best. Representatives of the Latvian Evangelical Alliance also evaluated the idea and theme reflected in the drawing; a special prize from the charity shop “Hopen” and the Lukas Fund, with the nomination “Most Promising Artist”, was received by Annija Janne-Jannova (14 years old).
Fifteen contest participants received prizes from Modris Skujins photo salon. Audience choice prizes and prizes for the youngest artists were also presented to several children this year.


Winners who did not attend the closing event will be able to receive diplomas and prizes in Ogre, Brivibas Street 30, by contacting in advance by phone at 26018937 or 28379055. The exhibition will continue until January 15; after that the works can be taken home (from Brivibas 30).
