“Challenge 2011” Church Planting Conference

This spring the “Challenge 2011” conference will take place for the second time.
The conference is organized by the Baltic Pastoral Institute and the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia
in cooperation with Soma Community Church and ACTS29, which brings together pastors from different parts of the world
who want to help leaders called by God plant new churches and renew existing churches.

The conference will take place from April 14 to 16 in Riga,
on the premises of the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia, Lacplesa Street 37.

During the conference, various topics related to church planting
and the growth of a healthy church will be presented and discussed. The greatest value of this conference is that
the speakers are strong not only in theory and biblical understanding,
but also in practical ministry. Therefore listeners will have the opportunity to hear
many stories and examples from the speakers' ministry lives.

During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to take part in various seminars
in order to give more attention to topics that interest them.

The conference will cover the following range of topics:
Church planting centered on the power and purpose of the Gospel
Right motivation in planting a church
Preaching mission while keeping Christ at the center
Coaching system
Preparing leaders for mission
The unchanging Gospel in a changing world and the need to adapt methods of proclaiming it
to today's cultural environment
Ministry to elders and families in newly planted churches
A Spirit-led church
Missional communities

Speakers at the conference will include:
Pēteris Sproģis, Bishop of the Union of Baptist Churches in Latvia,
Cezars Kalinovskis (who has visited Latvia several times),
Seth McBee and Todd Morr.
